I'm about 98% sure I had it after wearing only boots or flipflops for 10+ years. I picked up some kind of brace at academy, I'd wear it to sleep, and at work. Don't know how much it helped, but the pain seemed to go away when I wore it. Stretch your foot/heel/lower leg area as much and as often as you can, and I really think putting a frozen water bottle on the floor and rolling it back and forth with your foot as hard/long as you can handle helped the most.

I read an article that said a lot of times your calf muscles being tight is the cause. Might try some calf rolling.
They said the calf muscles is attached to the arch around the heal...tight calves create a tight arch. If I read it right.
I have been using a foam roller on mine.
