Maybe a 12' pro angler rod? Was just looking at these and they're like $70. Supposed to be for catfish but seems like it would work. No experience with them though.

Penn spin fisher v comes in many sizes and is one of the overall finest reels you can get. Ugly stick makes some really good surf rods too.

I have a 12ft big game ugly stick w/ a Penn Spinfisher w/ liveliner great setup for inshore bottom fishing or surf and jetties!

Academy has their 12ft shakespere Tidewater poles for 40 bucks right now! Paired with a nice Penn your good to go!
