Fished Lake Waco Saturday with snowriver6 & James Tucker. Fished both the big area north of the bridge and also the flooded timber on the south end. Marked a bunch of fish every where we looked and only caught four, a nice blue and three channels. Threw cut shad at them all morning and it just didn't happen. What does it take to get these puppies to bite?

Keep a couple rods out with shad, but make sure to put out some stink bait like stubbys or CJ's

When using punch bait on a treble, is it better to rig a Cooper Santee to keep it off the bottom?

When I fish punch bait, I just use the Carolina rig style. I might use a 8" to 12" leader. The bait usually floats off the bottom. I've tried the Santee rig with punch bait and didn't really see any difference for me.

i agree punch bait would draw them in, but i would have did the same thing you did with cut bait!
