Lewisville has been tough the last few weeks since the heavy rains scattered fish. They are starting to bite again and every trip this past week has gotten just a little better each day. Today I had Mike and Mack in town for some crappie fishing and then chasing blue cats tomorrow. The bite was never totally on fire but just steady most of the day. Did find some pretty decent sized crappie today and they ended up with a mixed bag of crappie, sandies and a couple of blue cats. Just a nice gallon bag of fillets for the day. The weather was pretty good as long as you could get out of the wind. Mike makes the fish look smaller than they were. He was a mountain of a man. Him and Mack had a blast and tomorrow I think the blue cats should bite well. Most crappie came on pink 1/16th sickle hook jigs with Bobby Garland Baby Shad in Threadfin Shad color with the tail dipped in spike-it chartuese. Also had a better bite when tipped with a crappie nibble or two. A few bit minnows today as well.
