I recently found out that my jigs were producing good catches up in The Northern Territories. Well, now I've been told that they even fool slab crappie swimming around in HARD water! Mike caught this 15 3/4" black on my Lake Palestine Special and as the background shows, he pulled it thru a hole in the ice! Another Lake of the Woods, Ontario crappie. The jig...

Heck saw a guy on the TV survivor type show Alone and saw a guy really hungry take a hook and some other things he had to make a fly. Casting by hands and no rod or reel and catch him self a 17" Rainbow trout for supper, LOL! So not sure it always takes quality to catch a fish! However I know Vern ties a quality jig, but guys a fish will eat bugs swimming on the water or some hand tied concoction tied up on the bank of a river, lol!
Just keeping it real guys!

Skip You're absolutely right Skip! When I was a teenager (YES! I can remember SOME stuff that far back!) I read in a magazine about as guy catching Green Trash Fish (LMB) with a hook and a beer pull tab! I tried it and I'll be danged if I didn't catch a little bass on that contraption! Just sayin!

Absolutely! One of the biggest bass I caught as a youth and was still that way past my teens. I was fishing in a local lake in Orange at the Country Club, mostly works and artificial baits, but I also had a jar of salmon eggs and I saw this huge bass (well it was huge to me then at about 7 pounds) that was right next to the bank and I put one of the eggs on a hook and I will be darned if he didn't eat that egg. I was so shocked and my reel stopped working so I just held the line and backed up until I had him on the bank, lol! Also have caught bass on some strange things and of course bluegills will eat about anything! Skip
