Up for sale is my TFO Axiom 5wt. 9', 4pc. I removed bed the factory reel seat and grip, and installed a Fullwells grip and fighting butt. I used it as for stripers and hybrids. It casts the 6wt cortland 444 peach line with no issues as well as the Rio outbound custom t-8 sinking line cut at 250 grains. Marked on the Butt at 10",14" and 18". This rod is no longer available from TFO for repairs or for sale. It had a broken snake guide that I replaced. It's not my best wrap and epoxy job, but it functions and cast very well. The only reason I'm trying to sell the is I purchased a 7wt BVK. The reel and rio sinking line went straight over to my 7wt. The Cortland 444 WF6F line is included as well as a blank warranty card and factory rod sock. I talked to TFO and they are still honoring there warranty. By offering a replacement rod of equivalent value. Asking $200 shipped to your door in the US. Out of county I would have to box it all up and check what it would cost to ship overseas. $190 face to face.

Thanks. The last thing I probably need is another 5wt rod (!!), but I am always interested in a good deal. I am not very familiar with the Axiom line myself.

Well, although it says 5wt it is like no other 5wt. I just tried to pull up the old information off of TFO website. It's no longer there since the discontinued the rod. I broke my 7 wt BVK on my outing and haven't sent it off yet for repair yet, so I'm lacking a rod over my 3wt. Pulled the reel off the 7 and put it on the 5wt Axiom. It casts a SA 7wt magnum floating line with ease. 200 grains. Also have a rio outbound custom sinking line cut at 200 grains. They work great. It's probably why I haven't sent my 7 wt off yet. I would not be afraid to up the line more either. This thing is a beast. The Axiom series is a fast action rod, it has a lot of backbone. There rod matrix had it listed as having a lot of distance, and lifting power but lacked in the presentation. It's not a delicate presentation to trout type of rod. To me it excels at throwing big bass poppers and streamers.
