Since I hate chrome and I am looking at either Silverados or Tundras I was wondering if GM offers anything with black or color matched grills? My first choice is a Tundra Pro but they can be rare and pricey. If I go the Tundra route I can buy the Pro grill and bumper end caps color matched. I prefer not to have to take a brand new truck and start swapping out parts.

Just don't forget to replace the buttugly yellow bowties.

no worse than the blue ovals that fade to silver. I have seen the blacked out Silverado and it does look sharp. Too bad it is only available with black sheet metal

Heck, I'd rather have silver but never had one fade. First thing I did on the ex-Suburban.

Spray it with Plasti-Dip. I pulled the chrome grille out of my 2013 Silverado, wiped it down with alcohol and gave it 3 coats. Looks as good as the day I put it on, and I can peel it off anytime. Works on paint, chrome, wheels..darn near anything, just make sure its clean and grease, oil free. There are tons of videos on cleaning, application and removal on You-Tube. Check it out!

I am familiar with Pastic-Dip. I did the badges and devil horns on my Toyota. I have heard that it does not wear well. I would be concerned with rock chips on a grill.

Mine is holding up well after 3 years. Clean the substrate well and apply 1 light coat, then 2 heavier coats. Friend of mine did his wheels 2 years ago and they still look good, even through a high pressure car wash.

I looked on the GM website and it looks like you can get color matched grille and bumper in Z71s LT or LTZ. Now I have another question. Are the rear seats fold up or fold down. I really prefer fold down because I like the flat surface. you have behind the seat storage, and there is more space horizontally. In my Tacoma if I need more height I can leave the back up. I hate that Tundras are now fold up like the Fords. I was hoping that the website would have pics but there were only 2 of the interior.

I'll 2nd the plasti-dip idea. I've seen and used that stuff for a long time and have found it to be relatively durable when applied properly. And when it does begin to fail, just peel it off for a brand new look, and re-apply if desired.

If you're not living on the edge, you're taking up too much space!
