With wind forecast you couldn't pay me to be on Roberts tomorrow!! If you must I would put in at Buck creek and stay there. Anything else is asking for trouble!

30-40 mph NW wind forecast. If you do go do not put in at Jordan/pilot point ramp and if you put in at isle du boise you will be limited mostly to the cove south of the ramp with winds that high or one heck of a boat ride to any place else. Heck just getting to the cove south of the ramp may be a challenge. Put in at Buck if you must go. You will at least have some protection and easier access to the upper end north shorelines. http://forecast.weather.gov/MapClick.php...=0#.WIRH5IFOLYX

Just realized you were asking for Saturday.......how'd you do? If you go Sunday tell us how you do in the wind...... I got caught a couple times at jordon ramp when the wind switched on me out of the north 20+ when the lake first opened and had to navigate the sunk boats at the ramp to get back on the trailer. One time was a hail storm an top of the wind. However, Caught a bunch both times in the gale, just a bit of a pucker factor getting back in.

I know the OP was asking about yesterday, would be curious to see how he did. I fished yesterday also found it to be a little tough, the fish were still in the same areas but they wanted something completely different again. I still managed to get seven bites, boated six of them, best 5 went about 17 to 18 pounds. Fished from 1015am till 5 pm.
In a big WNW wind Johnson Branch or Buck get my vote. You can launch at Johnson branch, and with the wind having the westerly flow to it run the left half of the lake all the way up the wolf or Indian without it getting too rough. That also allows you to get into lick as well as all of the cuts and pockets in Johnson. And of course there is also the marina, launch there and never go outside the tires...

Hey guys, I am new to TFF and to fishing Ray Roberts. I have read a lot about the main creeks at ray Roberts but have only put in at Buck creek until now. Any tips or baits that work well would be appreciated. I know they are still a bit deep or at least were a few days ago when I went. I just haven't had much luck at all when I have went and seeing if I just suck haha! Thanks for the help!
