Been working on a few wooden lures this week. Every part is made by hand, diving lips, hangers, lure bodies and internal weights. Three sizes all dive to different depths, a few foot deeper depth for each size, all silent, no rattles this time. The action is a wide wobble, quick jerks cause it to dart off to one side or the other. High floating so they're pretty hard to hang up when working thru hard cover. Three coats of eTex and VMC short wide hooks on stainless split rings. Wood lures have an entirely different painting process from plastic lures. Still working on paint patterns, but I've got several nice ones, from my plastic baits, to choose from.

Are those bills microchip board? Yes they are. I feel like the circuit board diving lips deflect off hard surfaces better. In my test tank they seem to have a more random action when bounced off a hard object...just my observations...no science involved.

Thanks for the positive response. It takes a lot of work to make just a single wooden lure by hand, but the uniqueness of the lure...size, shape, action, etc., makes it worth all the troubles. Try it yourself and you'll have a newfound appreciation for luresmith's who make their own lures.

Nice baits. Thanks banker-always fishing. I would like to paint a pattern based on the photo in the lower left corner of your signature photo. Would you happen to have a detailed photo of it that you could send me? Don't know if you fish cranks, but if you do I'll send you a lure with my custom painted pattern from your photo.
