Going to pick up a truck I bought. Dodge 1500 with 6" lift and 35" tires... Never had a lifted truck and was curious if someone could recommend the right drop hitch? 6"? 8"? I've even seen 9" and 10" drops. An 8" drop makes sense to me. I pull a Skeeter ZX225 on a tandem axle trailer and would like to avoid trial and error purchasing the wrong drop so my trailer can stay level.
Thanks

I'd go with a 9 or 10 on a Ram with a 6" lift. I have a 2" drop on my Ram and it's not enough for my Triton TR-17. I need to go buy a 4 or 6. No lift at all. The Ram just sits considerably higher than my old 2004 Silverado.

Why not just back up to your trailer and use a tape measure?

Good method, but it doesn't take into account any drop on the back end from the weight of the tongue. My Silverado rear leaf suspension never dropped much, but my Ram coil suspension does for sure. If you already have a ball/hitch of some sort, stick it in there and measure the height in step 1 with the tongue weight on it and then do the rest of the math as instructed. If you do the math per the site and then your truck drops a couple inches with the trailer tongue weight on it, then you will have gone too far and added too much drop.

I have a Ram 1500 and use a 2" drop with 31-32 inch tires. Figure your 35's add half the difference in height so 1.5 inches and th 6 inch drop plus my 2" drop says you should use a 9.5 inch drop.
I'd get a 8-9 because your probably going to have more sag.

They seem to take bumps harder then a strait arm drop, just a heads up. Had mine for right at a year now

I have an F-150 on 6 inches of lift and 35s, and I only have to run a 6 inch drop hitch. That runs my tandem trailer perfectly level, but you're obviously gonna have to take out the tape measure and get what exactly works for yours. I used a tape measure to get mine, and that's what I bought.

Ended up ordering a 6" from amazon, sits perfectly level. I appreciate the input!
