I have a list of lat/long GPS coordinates where brush piles exist. I don't have a fancy rig with all the latest technology so I was hoping to find an iPhone app where I could pre-enter the coordinates and it would direct me to those locations (perhaps with an alert when I've arrived). Any recommendations? Looking for pretty accurate GPS in this endeavor. Thanks.

I believe Navionics has a mobile app that offers GPS with an immediate usage with a free trial although I`m Not certain to the length of the trial period but it`s worth a look see.

I don't believe the Navionics app will allow you to input a coordinate. Google earth is the only service I know of that will allow you to input a coordinate and the drive to it. No alarms or anything like that though.

How can I find a location using GPS coordinates in iPhone Maps?
To look up a specific location using your iPhone, only the latitude and longitude coordinates are needed. If you don't have an address for a place, you can enter the GPS coordinates directly into the Maps location and the location will be displayed.
Open the Maps app. Tap Search at the bottom of the screen. Enter the latitude and longitude coordinates in the search bar. Coordinates can be in decimal degree format or degrees, minutes, seconds. Here are examples of properly formatted coordinates:
44 35′25″n 104 42′55″w or 44.5903 -104.7153
After entering the coordinates into the Maps search field the app will drop a pin at your desired location and draw the surrounding area.

You can do it with the iPhone Navionics App....
1.) Use the search icon 2.) Select Lat/Long 3.) Dial in the Coordinates 4.) Select Show on Map 5.) Add a marker on the selected coordinates

Does iPhone Navionics give you information (alert or on the display) when you have arrived at the marked coordinates? Or at least tell you your current positioned coordinates and how far you may be off. Is it pretty accurate? Thanks guys.

I have a buddy down the coast thats a very shallow salt water guy. He doesnt even use a dept finder, he said what good is one going to do in 2 feet or less water.
He has a water proof case for an ipad and runs his maps from the ipad. works for him.
Thanks, Billy

Navionics only does (Degree's / Decimal / Minutes) so make sure you are not trying to put in (Seconds) or you won't come close. If you are getting coordinates from Google Earth the make sure you change to that format in the options menu.

I really like Motion X-GPS app on my iphone. I think it was about $15, but in some cases, it's been more accurate than my Garmin handheld unit that I use hiking/camping.
