For around $260 you can get St Croix Legend Tournament rods. I've tried all of the top brands, some mentioned above, and this rod is the best in my opinion. Never had a broken rod or defect in over 10 years fishing with them. Can't say that for the others.

I won't buy another TFO after a customer service exsperience... Super curious about this as I've pretty much migrated all my rods to them, their customer service is pretty much top notch in the industry, not to mention based right here! Lol i have tried to send back 2 rods, both times they chargered me more than double what they promised replacement was at time if purchase and both times WEEKS after they finally sent me replacments and i was under the impression i was done. I recieved calls and letters saying i didnt pay and owed them more money. Done with them, moving to power tackle

Like both of these options. Also like the Cabela's ZX rods. Has anyone fished the No. 8 Blackout rods?

Check out the Denali Lithiums. $199 Light, sensitive, and they look nice too. I used to use Falcon rods, but got tired of losing rod eyes. They are great rods, just don't have the quality in that price range. Plus they tend to run lighter than what comparable rods run. Duckets speak for themselves. Just do a quick search and you will see real quick why a lot of people don't like them. G Loomis rods are nice, but the lower end ones are not worth what you pay for them. I would say that in the $200 price range don't even bother. I can't speak for Dobyns, but have heard mostly good things about them. They might be worth a shot, but I very much enjoy the Lithiums the most of the above.

I have always liked the shimano crucial series. I got one of these a couple of months ago and absolutely love it. I plan to buy more.

I recently picked up a Lews Custom Lite, 7' MH/ Magnum bass rod. I only have 3-4 other rods that were all $100 or less so not a lot to compare it to. it's nice and light, sensitive, and plenty of backbone for hook sets. I mainly like the Winn grips, way more comfortable than cork or eva for me.

I really like the medium moderate fast casting rod for lighter/finesse fishing. I read good things about the high modulus blank so I decided to give it a shot. If i recall it's a 9+tip with smaller guides to keep good contact with your line. Nice style tennis grip as well! Not sure about longevity (I don't beat on my tackle) but definitely a good rod for the price. You can find em on sale too

Check out getting a custom rod built, a lot of the times you can get a lot more bang for your buck. I have numerous rods built by Reel Time Rods, the rods are awesome and the people there are even better... Definitely custom. You can build them yourself too with a little patience and youtube to help you out. Best store bought option is the Dobyn's Champion in the 240-260 price range
I say we fish 5 days a week and work 2.
