 Gar and cats in cibolo

Im thinkin to hit cibolo creek tomorrow and was wondering if anyone had any tips or tricks regarding Gar and cats. Which subspecies am I most likely to catch and what are the best ways to target them in that creek?

The Cibolo has some nice Channels and Gar! Cut shad or live Bluegill work the best. There are a couple of nice deep pockets of water located between FM 78 and IH 10 that hold some nice fish. A kayak or Jon Boat makes it a whole lot easier. Good luck.

Fished all day yesterday, real windy and didn't catch a whole lot, was using shad and sunfish, the only fish i caught was a 19" large mouth on live shad. Other than that, the creek was pretty dead yesterday

When ever I fish a river or creek I chum with chopped pieces of bait in a sack/ container with holes in the same spot I'm casting in. Had a buddy come along one night and he lost an 80 buck rod and reel because he thought I was bsn....

And it works pretty well? As much as I have fished i aint never chummed the water. Im gonna have to try that next time.

Longnose and spotted if there is alligatorgar I've heard nor seen anything about em
