Met Rob at Oak Cove and launched around 8:45.
Tried sometimes island, Pelican island, and Windsock first but not much luck. Could only find a few fish, catch 3 or 4 and then nothing. Looking for sharp transitions from deep to 30-35 fow. Went to the dam next and found a few more and two fat hybrid right at 18" in 40fow. Weather was very cool, light wind, somewhat foggy and cloudy until about 2:00. Tried several other spots and just could not find a school. Rob suggested that we finish up back at Pelican and that turned out to be a very good decision. Found big fat sandies and one more 18" hybrid in 40 fow, South West of the island. Finished the day with 72 on the clicker, all released. All caught on small minnow shaped slabs right off the bottom. Several times there were suspended fish but they were very hard to catch.

Thanks for the report! We were out last weekend with very similar results. The suspended fish are VERY hard to catch. We tried deadsticking slabs, swim baits, and even some live shad. Tried thumping. We caught one suspended fish all day. The fish that are biting were right on the bottom. At times you could hardly see them on your graph. The good news is the fishing is 1000000% better that it was at this time last year on RC. I think its going to be a really good year!

TGG we experienced exactly the same thing. On the bottom, hard to see, suspended VERY hard to catch, and fishing on RC much much better than last year.
Rob, looking forward to our next trip but remember when the weather is good for the fisherman, it is usually bad for fishing. Seems that you have to suffer a little to enjoy the benefits.
