Has anyone used one of these kits - I have a helix 7 I want to mount in the bow of a legend but can't tell from the picture if to use the kit you have to be able to get behind it for it to work like you could if it was mounted in the dash where you have access to the back of it.

Yes, you need access on the backside of the mount surface to tighten the bolts.

Look up the kit on the Humminbird website and download the Install Guide.

Well I went ahead and got the kit - from the way it works looks like I'll be able to mount it to a 8" x 12" plate and then mount the plate at the bow hole the lowrance is coming out of - I think it will work.
