Just curious of what yall's biggest catfish on a rattle trap is? Last week I was at Rayburn and had a 5-6lb blue nail a rattletrap right as I was getting ready to pull the trap out of the water

I caught about a 20 lb yellow at the dam on Lewisville.

I don't remember the year, but it was back when the TTT was still going. I caught this one during a tourney on Cedar Creek, thought I won the tourney on one cast for about 10 seconds. Im guessing it was in the 20 lb range, maybe bigger? Also take into consideration I am 6'7" (Red Chrome Trap.)  JR

Back when you could fish directly behind the Granbury dam when it was running, I caught a 20lb+ Flathead on a rattle trap. Crazy fight for sure. Heck of a memory.

Never caught one a trap. Spinner baits yes. Biggest was about 5lbs. Channel cat back in a creek at Lville

Caught several channel cats in the 4 lb range on rattle trap type baits on Monticello.

Actually, I have never been on a lake where channel cats hit bass lures so consistently as Monticello. Crankbaits, rattletraps, chatterbaits....Few bass fishing trips without one or two catfish caught.

Caught one in the Colorado river on a mepps prolly 3pounds

5-6 pound by Lewisville dam. caught 3 cats on a trap in one day.

Around 3 pounds. I did catch 3 in the same day though. I'm newer to Texas and was told that there are "supposedly" bass in Calaveras. My 1st time out there I threw a bunch of cranks, only caught catfish on them though.

A 12lb flathead on Cedar creek! Had a bigger one on but he straighten out the back hooks.
