Love the little setup you have never seen a baitcaster on a ultralight ..nice trout It is great fun!! The reel is the biggest investment to get you started. Being able to cast down to 2g on a baitcaster is awesome though. There are places that make custom BFS (bait finesse system ) spools to customize popular bass reels too. The reel I use (Daiwa SS Air) is specifically made for BFS. I just ordered some stuff from Finesse-Fishing.com and recommend you check them out. It's a new site by the owner of Tenkarabum.com where I have made many orders. Great people and great service! The new Finesse site is going to cater to the guy (like me) who wants high end JDM trout/panfish finesse gear.

 Hit the river today. A few nice spotted bass, but fishing was slow.

I love fishing gear. I consider myself a fishing gear freak. I have a taste for JDM fishing gear , and it's a bad habit for the wallet. That said , I sometimes get gear that looks like it should be in a display case it's so beautiful!!' Case in point is my new Daiwa Presso AGS 62ML-B rod! What a stunner. The rod is an "area trout" baitcast rod. Rated for lures 2-7g and line 2-5lbs test.

Broke in the new rod today. Fished a 2.5g blue/black Damiki jig on 5lbs Sunline Sniper FC. Caught a few bass and a small crappie. Not bad for the chocolate milk pond I was fishing a day after it was flooded by a creek.
