Knuckles and I were approached by Oliver Howe from Piscifun; essentially we have been asked to test the Sword Series reel and provide our feedback. Of course we jumped at the opportunity. Upon reviewing the website and the online collateral about the Sword reel, it looks very promising and we look forward to getting our hands on this reel. We have a gunmetal 9/10 wt in transit as this is being typed. Our goal is to put this reel through the paces while fishing for bull reds next month while in Cocodrie, LA; oh I am sure we will get it out before then too, hehehehe!

Our dealings with Piscifun have been extremely friendly and accommodating. If this reel lives up to what we have read while field testing it, we will be picking up more reels, both fly and conventional. Knuckles is fishing this year in the Texas High School Bass Fishing Association, so we need to load up on quality gear and look to Piscifun to help us get there.

I tell y'all this because Piscifun is relatively new to the fishing community, there prices are low....obviously trying to get market share. We would like to help these guys out if possible and we will be providing a complete and honest review of what we think, so stay tuned for our thoughts and feedback.

Tight lines.

Can't wait for your review! I've been wanting to get a new 8' 6", four weight for a creek sand bass rod and I've got my eye on the Piscifun sword in gold. The reviews on their web site look great but I think I'll take your word on it before I trust the words of people I don't know. I'm anxiously awaiting your "official" ruling.

Hey, I realize this is off-topic, but I am curious: is your son competing in the THSBA tournaments while fly fishing? I happen to be a high school student too here in Texas, and have considered doing this as many of my friends compete in THSBA, but don't fly fish like me.

Hey theflyguy3! Actually, Knuckles is competing this new year's season with Keller High School. We actually homeschool, but the Keller High School has been gracious enough to let him be on the team. Honestly, I think it's a great opportunity to get exposed to tournament fishing, offers scholarships and certainly wouldn't look bad if trying to get on a college fishing team. Definitely going to test out the Piscifun baitcasters and spinning reels.

We will get our review out on the Sword series reel asap! May do an unboxing ceremony and a field test video! smile

We plan on having our product review video out by this weekend!

At the moment, we are not Pro Staff, our review on this reel will be independent and unbiased.

Stay tuned!

I bought a line spooler from them. Really a cool handy gadget.Load lines on spools very fast. But I don't know how their reels are. Hope you can come up with a review.

BTW, how to pronounce piscifun... bang

Hey Toddddd!

We are doing the review tomorrow night and then a field test on Saturday, so a video should be out by Sunday at the latest!

We will tell you how to pronounce Piscifun and give a little background about the company too! wink
