Nice Gills Leo and Yesenia!  Those will cook up nice!  That river is looking GREAT!  Did you all get any good rain so far this year?  Side Note:Also, how do you cook up your sunnies?

Thanx for the replies alan,chuck,and brian! Chuck we've had rain seems like every other week and if that pattern holds the nueces will be in the best shape since the 90s. As far as cooking gills we or should i say yesenia either fries them in a mix of cornmeal and flour or makes a soup with tomato,cummin,and cilantro served over a bowl of white rice. Its my mothers recipe and my favorite

Nice write up. But rub it in that you get to fish. I got a couple more weeks of hunters and then we will have to get together and fish again.

That is the deal! I've caught 'gills on a lot of stuff when they have the feedbag on, but never a piece of plastic bag. That piece of river looks excellent! I need to spend more time on the Nueces.

Thanx for the reply jagg. Iv caught gills on pieces of plastic bag but the yellow bags seem to work best. Yesenia caught this bass and gill with a bow she cut off her clothes she was wearing. We're always willing to try something new

Side Note: The White Bass Run on the Nueces is on! there are no white bass that far north up the nueces. That streach of river is around Crystal city
