I like the Foam. Don't like the feel of the cork when wet.

Anyone using the Rippin Lips Super Cat 7'6 rods? How do they perform?

I had one for about a month, I gave it away! They have some good reviews but it was just not the rod for me. I purchased it off of impulse and and it seemed to be a good rod for the money but once I actually used it I just prefered my other rods. One big drawback is I did not like the split handle in my rod holders and I prefer cork over foam handles and as far as I know they only have foam. As far as the rod blank it seemed like it could tangle with some nice size fish and hold up well. Im not saying that it isn't a good rod but for ten dollars more I can get a good pro angler.

Thank you for your honest feedback Mike. I will check out pro angler. Could you use the pro angler rods from the bank as well?

For bank fishing get the 10' rods and I think you will be happy with them if you are fishing lakes to get a further cast if your targeting blues, it definitely makes a big difference. If your fishing rivers then a 7'6" will be fine.

If you're going to be fishing from the bank them little boat rods ain't going to cut it. The 12-foot Okuma longitude,good-looking heavy duty rod with a lot of backbone. Around $70 on Amazon.

Which pro angler Rods should I choose if I want to have a few dedicated big cat/saltwater setups with probably abu 6500s and which should I choose for a few dedicated channel cat setups for like the river. Would probably put abu 4600 or 5500 on these.

Send me a pm and I will get you Deerstrangler's (Bob) number. He is the rep that I contact when I need a rod and he lives in Azle which isn't too far from weatherford. He will let you look at some of the rods and he uses them quite a bit on the coast so he could give you some good feedback on how they handle. For channels I would definitely go with the medium action and for bigger blues mixed in with saltwater I would go with the Med/Hvy. The medium action will definitely handle the big blues too but I'm not sure what kind of fish you are catching in saltwater to make a recommendation.
