So my question is can someone send me a pic of there 2D Lowrance of catfish and there sensitivity settings? EL Gato and Tom both think these where either catfish or sandbass etc which explains why I was not cast netting them. I should have dropped bait

Please feel free to give me any advice or opinions.. I'm still learning but I think I'm starting to figure out a little

No mention on any threadfin caught.
Problem might be the net.
What cast net do you need to catch shad at 25'?

I know exactly the area oakpointaggie was throwing and it's chuck full of threads and whites right now...you can throw like a madman but if you don't have a deep hole net and your not directly over the cloud your not going to catch many...gizzards are plentiful out to 30-35 ft and often only takes 1 throw but you need the right net

What kind of net?

I had my Bluewave for 4 years and never properly learned how to use my HDS7. lol No one I knew had ever used a fish finder.

What if those fish that made those long arches are swimming the same direction as the boat and transducer?
What about those long arches and the boat speed?
Educate us.
thanks
Sorry just now seeing this, forgot i had posted lol. To answer your question i was commenting on the first picture. Not sure what long arches swimming you're talking about there. I don't have a great answer, just time running a graph and knowing what typically fish look like on my graph, I would look at that as game fish. smile

I'll update you all tomorrow if I go out and find these again. I'm thinking of have a minnow up above my slab instead of a fly or jig above my slab. I want to see if I can catch these sandbass or whatever they are. I appreciate all the comments
