When I use the vinyl paint or power coating either the paint comes out almost transparent on the jig head. How do you get the solid color to show up good and not be transparent?

Also, after you paint the jig it will have paint in the eye hole where you thread your line thru. What is the best way to clean that out?

Dip into the paint and let it dry may work, after drying dip again is all that seems practical to me. My 2 cents.

You can use loon outdoor products. I believe that you have to mix the paint before you can apply it on eyes.
Most of the fly fishing nippers will have a needle in it, that is for clear the paint and head cement.

Powder coating is heat activated. Heat the head well and "dunk" quickly and pull it out in powder paint. If not enough powder on jig do a quick dunk again before the head cools off. Hang to dry for a minute. Heat in oven for 20 minutes at 350 degrees. Paint will be thick and hard. You can apply a coating of Hard as Nails to it for even more protection and gloss.
Vinyl paint is "dip and dry". If not enough paint then dip again when dry to get extra coats as needed.

If your powder coating on some colors you have to have a base coat of white or black to make the colors pop also make sure you clean the hook eye out before baking or you will never get it clean it will be sealed shut and hard as a rock ..
