Ok guys, I lost all my tackle and baits. I have no idea how I lost my tackle bag or where it went.

Anyways, being a broke college kid, I can't afford to replace it all until the summer. That being said, I am just asking for suggestions on hard plastic baits that you fish pre-spawn and early spawn. I bank fish 99 percent of the time so I don't need 8xds or anything like that.

I know what terminal tackle and soft plastics I throw, but I don't really throw hard baits and my new years resolution was to learn how to fish them. So, pretend you've got about 50-100 bucks to spend on crankbaits and jerkbaits, etc. Whats your shopping cart look like?

Thanks y'all

On a budget go with academy brand h2o cranks. Decent quality. Get a small selection of squarebills, shallow divers and lipless. Get some shad patterns, chartreuse, and crawfish/reds. Should be about to get all you need for $40-$50

Agree with the H2O brand at Academy. Check online for additional options if needed. Traps and Squarebills can serve double-duty. Keep it simple, with 2-3 colors max!

Traps (1/2 oz)
Red
Silver (Blue-Back)
Sexy

SquareBills (1.5 & 2.5):
Sexy
Chart (Black Back)
Craw

Guys, I didn't post this thread to try and get free stuff. I do appreciate the offers and your generosity! But seriously, I don't want yall to think I'm just trying to get something out of this. All I'm wanting is to learn and get advice and opinions!

Thank y'all for the insanely fast replies!

Take them up on it. I had a bunch of good tackle gave it to my local High School Team. I am sure most of the people offering up there tackle would just like to see it go to use bud.

That's a rare reply and a stand up response. Lots of guys have excess tackle and willing to hand it down to someone who can use it. I say take em up on it

H20 is really good stuff for the $, especially if you can find some on sale/clearance.

Find a couple of square bills, shallow divers (2-6 feet), rat-l-traps in shad, chartreuse, and maybe chrome, blue, or red and you should be good. More than cranks, I would recommend a few spinnerbaits. Double bladed white spinnerbaits are hard to beat for bank fishing.

I agree with others. I would take some of the tackle offers. In the future, when you graduate and make some money, you can pay it forward to the next poor college kid needing some tackle. laugh
