Not if you are careful. My MK terrova hangs over the boat due to how it deploys. You just have to make sure your trailer is not backed too far in the water causing the nose/bow to drop when backing off the trailer. Practice makes perfect --- start with the boat 7 trailer nose out of the water a good ways.

Copy That. Replaced the Motorguide 24 volt with 36 volt M.K.

The MKA-47 mount slides back and forth about 6". I put one on the Terrova. Slide it back for loading, slide it out when on the water.

Check out the LiftSaver TM Mount which also works on the MK Terrova/Ulterra. It retracts the MK a full 6 3/4" and the mounting plate is large enough to cover all the holes from previous installations (no repairing of the front holes which will be exposed), it supports all of the trolling motor (the MK-47 only supports the back half when it is extended) and it provides a more stable mounting platform. Check it out at www.liftsavertmmount.com and pm me if you have any questions. For the MK TMs, we simply remove the back brace and the motor lay completely flat against the mounting bracket when retracted.
LiftSaver Trolling Motor Mounting Bracket - Patent Pending and LiftSaver Transducer Pole Mount www.liftsavertmmount.comWorks with MG Xi5, Xi3 and MK Terrova, Ulterra, PD V2 and Riptides as well.
