We used it last year for a Colorado trip.

No issues and went well

Had good and bad experiences. I would look for a house rather than a multi-family. We stayed in a fourplex in Dunedin, FL and the owner told us she lived somewhere else. That was not the case. She was upstairs from us and they were running some type of home business. They were walking all around the apartment until 2 or 3am every night. And it felt like she was always in our business. Had the place for two weeks and only stayed one week.

Another time we got to a place in the Keys and it was half remodeled. The part that had been remodeled was nice, but the rest of the house was in poor shape. Doors wouldn't lock and the dock around the slip was in dangerous condition. We didn't even stay the night. Luckily we were able to get our money back.

Had a great experience with a house in Islamorada.

The solution to any problem - work, love, money, whatever - is to go fishing, and the worse the problem, the longer the trip should be. --John Gierach

We used it once in a major city for five days. 2 BR brownstone with full kitchen, dining room for a lot less than any hotel room. Worked out fine for us.

It is the only service we use when vacationing or tournament fishing. Have never had a bad experience.

Used it several time with no issues. Read the terms and conditions to avoid any surprises.

What he said. Use your good judgement and ASK QUESTIONS of the property manager/owner.

AIRBNB is another good option. Works like VRBO.
The name is misleading. It is not bed n breakfast. It's rentals just like VRBO.

Yes.. used them to get a beach house in Surfside two years ago. Look at the reviews, as that tells the story. Find someone to take your labs, as that is what we do. One of our friends keeps our lab and we treat them to out to dinner or something on our return for taking care of him.

I really enjoy VRBO. I like to look there if I don't like hotel options when traveling for work.

Take photos of everything when you arrive just in case though. Who knows if some crazy landlord will try to blame a repair on you.

Yes,use VRBO almost exclusively for house/condo on the gulf every year. Been using them for around 20 years give or take a year or two. No major problems encountered.

We used VRBO to find a condo on the redneck riviera and it was a sweet place.
