So ive got my new Skeeter now. Wife says she wants to take a family vacation during spring break as she's a teacher. Because of our two labs and our unwillingness to kennel them for a week, we have never vacationed together. She takes my daughter and they take a trip, then I take her and we do a trip.

So we found VRBO.com. We were able to find a rental house on Toledo Bend that has 2 acres and allows pets. It's water front and has its own dock. The cool thing is it's less than $120 a night for our whole crew. I was impressed at how many lake houses are advertised as being pet friendly and how reasonable they are. I found them on many area lakes.

If you want to get away and stay at a house rather than a typical lodge, give it a try

Yes, I have used them to find lakefront rentals several times.

Its the only way we travel as a family. 3 kids and hotel rooms are not for me.

We used VRBO to find a house for a couple nights on Lake Holbrook last summer. It worked out really well for us and the friends that joined us!

Many times. No major complaints.

I have used it many times. Never had any issues. Most of the time I have been able to talk them down on the price.

Used them a lot. Had one person cancel the reservation once in me. The guy canceling the reservation offered to pay the difference if we had to book something that cost more. Still had plenty of time to get something else booked. The other 10 times or so I have been issue free with them.

Yes we've used them two different times for a full week's stay in Fla. Everything worked out perfectly. Go enjoy your family!

Dude, I live in Fort Worth and own a lab. You can drop your dogs off at my place for a week. Take the family on a vacation, for crying out loud.

Funny how little sense it makes after saying it out loud.
