If I was Dak, I might be just a bit put off by the front office refusal to name him as the stating QB going forward. I'm sure there are conversations going on internally that the public and media are not privy to yet but I think its about time go give Dak some finality in the matter and the public accolades he deserves. Maybe its just me but end the controversy already. I don't think its a good idea to continue to keep the man dangling on a string like the organization has done all season.

Quote [This is going to be a long, arduous offseason in Dallas thanks mostly to their impending decisions at quarterback.

On Monday, head coach Jason Garrett wanted to keep those discussions at arm's length for at least a little while. He was asked if Dak Prescott was definitively the team's starting quarterback in 2017.

"Don't want to get into those discussions," he said, via The Dallas Morning News.]Quote

There is more value in trading a QB that could be a starter, than a back up. If Jerry concedes that Romo is no better than a back up his trade value drops.

It's called not tipping your hand. If they can trade Romo they will but if teams know the Cowboys plan to release him they will not trade for him. I am 100% sure Dak knows exactly the plans the team has for him going forward. Making it public weakens the trade potential regarding Romo. Business 101.

I hope Romo ends up with my Cardinals.

Lot of coach speak. Of course Dak is gonna be the qb. They just gotta figure out how to move Romo with that contract, and what his market value is worth. Personally if I was a team I would give no more than a 5th round pick.

Dallas needs to worry about keeping people from moving the ball up and down the field instead of who is QB next year.

I get the negotiating aspect and maximizing Romo worth, I just think Dak is due a bit more consideration publicly in the matter. If your intention is to make him your franchise QB going forward then give him props, its not like Romo's status is a secret.......Every NFL team is aware of what value if any Romo would bring to their respective organizations.

How do you know they didn't give him his "props" in the exit meetings?

I'm sure Dallas is looking at a bunch of teams as potential buyers, and they are deciding on the trade talent on those teams. I'd like to see a lot of defensive secondary help, and maybe another pass rusher.

Jerry will keep this stirred up till after the Superbowl. That's how he's kept them relevant even though they haven't been to the big show...or even the lil big show in 22 years. And this from me a die hard Cowboy fan.

I hope Romo goes somewhere in that's good and spanks Dallas a** in the playoffs.

I would be happy if Dallas could win a playoff game
