Trying to decide whats the best and most practical to wear while running a lake especially these winter months. I have looked at the helmets and the save phase face masks.
What do yall think?

Save Phace for those really cold mornings, other wise, some goggles and a balaclava. I can stand the cold, but my eyes watering almost blinds me. Under Armor makes a really good balaclava... warm and almost windproof.

I use a Save Phace, but when I took it out of my bag last weekend the foam has desintigrated. Anyone know anywhere to purchase replacement foam?
Sorry to hijack your post, but while on the subject.

I don't use either. I use a hood like the NFL players use and wear my costas when running in the cold. But I'm kind of a sissy and won't go fishing unless it is in upper 20s heading for upper 30s or warmer.

I use a Save Phace with a beanie. Works great in cold weather. The Save Phace has a really good fit and keeps all of the cold air out of your face.

I changed to save phace from helmet after coming across Rayburn during a bass champs tourn last year as a passenger. I felt like a bobble doll with my head going every which way from the waves. After the third time I felt it pop I took it off and almost threw it over board. Had problems with Neva pain for months after that.

Save-Phace
A helmet is really nice when it's cold but when running on a crowded lake you really need to at least hear whats going on around you. You can barely if at all hear your partner if he sees anything. I switched over to a Save-Phace a few years ago and love it. I first started using it in a much colder climate then and it worked great.

Save Phace but not running wide open , most time a good set of goggles and tight hoodie does it for me .

When its cold and wet it is hard to beat a helmet, but they do consume a lot of room. I feel they both have there place.

I keep both - helmet for when its really really cold and raining use the save phace when its not so cold but raining - those rain drops hurt at 60+ mph
