I decided to hit some of the coves in West Galveston Bay, getting on the water at around 1130 this afternoon I made a run to the first spot. After arriving I seen a few bait fish hopping at the front of the cove but nothing that peeked my interest so I headed to the back of the cove. The water was gin clear and didn't have the water depth or bait. So I decided to drift back out to the mouth and wade the area I had previously seen the bait. After about thirty minutes with no action I decided to hit the next cove over. After arriving at the next spot I started my wade in about three feet of water with a mud bottom throwing a mudbug saltwater assassin paddle tail with no takers. The wind was a little to heavy to fish with the 1/16th ounce jig head I was using so I switched to a 1/8th ounce head and a Kelly wiggler root beer paddle tail. After a few casts I hooked up on a trout right at my feet that weighed just a touch under three, then a dink red. Switching over to a Norton chicken on a chain paddle tail I ended up hooking up on another trout that went about two pounds. With the fog getting thicker I decided it was time to go and ended the day with two respectable trout and a dink red.
