I had the pleasure to go out with Tommy on Thursday afternoon in his boat to tweak his electronics for him. After spending some time dialing in his Helix units we did find about 50 crappie but only around 10 nice keepers. His side imaging is dialed in and I'm sure he will find a lot of fish with it in the near future.

Today I had Travis and Greg out on a split trip. Today was a grind with the cold front from yesterday and the on and off cold rain. We did boat a lot of crappie today but struggled with the keepers. Ended up cleaning 29 fish today. Also caught a few largemouth and some gar as well. They had a good time and warmed up while I cleaned fish. Enjoyed having them both out. Still catching fish on jigs in 10-20 ft of water close to the bottom. I do have some spots open for crappie fishing during the week over the next few weeks. Weekends are booked up for a while.

Since I'm new to the crappie thing... jigs or minnows? What's water temp on Lewisville currently?

Jigs mostly these days. Pink with shad color body or chartreuse seems to both work lately. The water temp today was 48. Had dropped to 40 last weekend.
