A few of us Brazos Valley Fly Fishers are planning to explore the Fort Parker paddle trail up near Groesbeck / Mexia on the Navasota river Saturday January 14th.
Should be a good easy paddle for most anyone with a kayak. Join us if you can!

One of my musician friends is a work-camper at Fort Parker right now. His name is Ken Blair and he is a really good guitarist and singer. Tell him Island Jim from The Rialto Theater said he has to play some tunes for you.

Have a good time. I haven't been to Fort Parker since is was a very small child.

One of the guys in the club has a trailer and can take up to four yaks and riders. Come to our BVFF club dinner meeting Thursday (Jan 12th) at Mr. G's in downtown Bryan 6pm-8pm and we can fill in the details.

Fort Parker / Mexia area was just above the edge of the cold front so fifty miles south it was much warmer and just the opposite further north. It was warming up about the time I left the park and was considerably warmer in Bryan when I got home around 5:30pm.

Yes I did.. but we were on the cold side of the front blowing through.. I suspect if it was warmer we would have really caught a bunch of fish!

Ft. Parker is one of my favorite parks to stay at have paddled that stretch of the river several times . Sometime stop in at the Confederate Reunion grounds the caretaker that used to be there is named Jim he can tell you stories for several hours about the history of the reunion grounds really interesting guy to listen to .
