The hooks mentioned here are all good and will work. A straight shank hook or an off-set hook will give you a better hook up ratio for worms. But before you invest in new hooks take a look at this thread from 8/16

Tip to prevent tearing out head of soft plastic baits

My post on the thread was this:

I have been using o rings for years to hold the bait better and to save plastics with Sweet Beavers, Paca Craws, Biffle Bugs, Rage Bugs, T-rigged senkos and 7"-10" worms. I thought it was common knowledge or I would have shared it earlier. I think I picked it up from a old fishing buddy in KY before they were sold for fishing and we bought the o-rings from auto parts stores. "Back in the Day" we used old ball point pen tubes to put them on baits. Sure wish I had thought of inventing the o-ring tool!

One tip I will add is to use a red o ring instead of the usual black. I now use the red ones exclusively and it works for me. It may be a confidence thing rather than an attractor but I know I get more bites with the red. At least I kn

Fouzman,
I trim off about a 1/16" from the keeper pin. Still holds and doesn't tear up the plastics as badly.

For big soft plastics, I like the Penetration Hooks F-Hook. The longer shank before the bend puts the hook a little farther back in longer baits.

Owner J hook or Owner rigging hook 4/0 or 5/0 depending on the thickness of the worm, both work just fine for me.
