I've been retired for 18 months or so and my brother just retired. We're thinking about fishing a Trail but really not sure where to start. We have a place on Fork and are giving consideration to the Media but would appreciate any other suggestions. Have time to travel to the events and a little extra money budgeted for entry fees but really do not have the sticks experience to fish Bass Champs or the like. Interested in starting small.

Find a good club to start with and you'll learn a lot along the way...

You may check out JC Outdoors

They have Lake Fork, Lake Tyler and Lake Texoma trails. It is relatively small and inexpensive.

+1 for JC Outdoors Mark really puts on a good tournament.
You may also check out Texas Trails Bassmasters of Lake Fork They fish 12 club tournaments per year on lakes within 1 hour of Fork plus 2 open tournaments that are on Fork.
