My father N Law has insisted I take him to cedar creek due to half way meeting. Can anybody help me out? What's the lake like? Any good features to fish and catch nice blacks.

Tons of docks, if you can find the right stretch of them they always hold fish. I went yesterday to do some work around the lake house, it was way too windy out so i just fished around the cove for about 20 minutes, one dink came off on a little crank but thats it. Lot of tournaments coming up so probably gonna be a little tight lipped on here. Launch in log cabin and you can fish that area and never leave, its called caney. Good luck

Just start flipping the first dock you come to and keep going at some point you will find something that wants to bite.

Look for boat docks that have rip rap around them and the end of the dock is in 6ft + depth. If you launch at Log Cabin, fish the south side of the bridge pilings, also the boat docks on the south point of where Caney cove goes into the main lake are good

The entire lake is completely covered in boat houses/docks. When someone tells you to simply flip docks it's like showing up to Fork with the plan of simply flipping trees :-). This time of the year concentrate on deeper docks, those out on points(even secondary points inside big coves) and those closest to creeks. Otherwise Cedar Creek can be overwhelming with numbers of unproductive docks. Also deeper points and humps. This can get you sandbass and hybrids also. Good luck!

Launch at Log Cabin or the 198 public ramp
go to the east/northeast of the ramps and start fishing those docks.
No secret, well publicized by Honey Hole videos.
toss a small square bill under and around them and flip with worms or jigs.
go under the bridge to the main lake, turn up the first arm, look for docks and bridge rip rap.
don't laugh,,,,,,but go to the dam and work a 1/4oz or 3/8oz roadrunner on the dam rocks.
