It is incredible now. I don't have lowrances to compare to but I can't imagine it could get better than my Mega unit. I didn't think my old helix was terrible though so take that for what it is worth.

Watching this thread closely. I am new to the Texas area. I just bought a boat and thinking about upgrading the electronics on it. Wow have things changed over the last 15 years, from an old flasher to SI DI Chirp and all. I guess I just realized I am getting old. I have been lurking on the other post that pertain to hummingbird electronics.

di has improved with the gen2 units due to the main fact that it will now have the all in one transducer( like the Onix). No longer using si imaging elements to create a computer generated Di. It will now be a true down image like the dedicated down imaging units have. The chirp will have some benefit as well
