8 and 10lb green on my spinning reels
12 and 15 clear on baitcasters for cranks, traps and top waters
Just re-spool after any heavy day of fishing since it's so inexpensive

Slide right, coming in .... Fish On!

Yes it's still good stuff.
I have caught more than a few really big fish on big game.
Other stuff is good as well, but big game still works.

I used clear on nearly every reel I have in 12 pounds. Have landed some big fish at the coast and on fresh water never had and problems. I usually change all the lines out every year.

Sounds like 12 and 15 are most common - and apparently green is more favored.

Hate to sound dumb, but most of my fishing has been done with clear line over my lifetime. Is green underwater less visible, and does water clarity affect your choice of clear vs green, or does it have little effect on bass? It seems when reading on Crappie, some feel those panfish are sometimes fickle in what line diameter and color you use. I understand FC seems to disappear underwater, but clear mono does not seem to be bad, I simply wondered what happens to green underwater - it seems to be a non-issue on fish. Do you folks who favor green like it to see your line above the water for strikes?

Appreciate all of you sharing your experience. Thanks gang.

Any thing I don't use fluorocarbon or braid on. Like top waters other than frogs. I have a couple of spinning reels with two spools and have braid on one spool and other on w/big game. I keep an assortment of spools of Big Game from 12 to 20 pound in the box with fluro and braid. There are applications for all choose what's best for the situation. Which is why I have 18 rod/reels in the boat. Course this includes the setups my wife fishes with. She's a killer with a rogue ! It's most of the time the green. This is the best mono JMHSO!

Yes. 12 lb and 15 lb for cranks and top water depending on the application. I use clear because an episode of Hook n Look showed all the different lines and weights under water. The green big game was more visible than the clear.
