I have a deck boat with a pilot's console. The fish/depth finder is mounted on top of the console. It doesn't work. I have bought a new one and am wondering how hard it is to replace. The boat is an I/O. It has electrical connections inside the console, easily accessible. But getting the wires to the back for the transponder is my concern. Any ideas?

You really want the power cable to be direct to the battery to prevent interference. If you have a transducer there already, tie a sturdy cord to it at the console and slowly pull it out the back. Then reverse the process to feed the new cable. Can run a direct power wire at the same time. Other than that get a electricians fish and feed it through then pull the cable with it.

Buy a fish tape and google how to use it or hire it done.

Thanks for the input. Bobby Milam, you describe what I was thinking of doing. The power is provided at a connection in that console I mentioned. All sorts of things are wired in there. So I will be attempting to do some combination of these ideas.
