For those of y'all who've had a boat for quite a while, is there a general consensus on the best cranking battery and best battery for a TM? I'm about to make my first battery replacements and is there any helpful tips when choosing replacement batteries? What is the standard (for y'all) on battery warranties or are they all pretty much the same (1 year warranty)?

Wal-Mart..for the simple reason that should you run into trouble on the lake, there's most likely a Wal-Mart fairly close.

Yes, same reasons as above.
Recommend a GUEST brand on board charger.
A bad charger is where most folks go wrong..... I learned the hard way!

I use the deep cycle gel batteries from Sears. Same as most of the marine gel batteries but have a 3 year warranty. And defiantly get a good onboard charger.

Can't go wrong with Walmart, Good price, 2 year warranty, open 24/7, I have used them for years and I don't see any reason to buy anything else. Keep an eye on the water level and you need a good charger. You will get years of service out of them
If it was easy, everyone would do it

A bad charger is where most folks go wrong..... I learned the hard way! My last Guess charger lasted 12 years..I bought a new one. Always kept my batteries charged.

I would recommend Interstate Econo batteries , I have four of them that I have had five years! Econo 's are refurbished batteries that you buy directly from Interstate store . These cost 32.00 a piece now , deep cycle Marine, and I plug in my in boat charger as soon as I back her in the barn. I know I will get a lot of flak from this post , but I have owned a car lot for 25years and started buying Econo's for $18.00 years ago and I think I have had two bad ones ,that they promptly replaced for me no questions asked. Some people don't feel comfortable if they don't spend $130.00 dollars on their boat batteries and that's ok if your that personality ? Just letting you know their are other options. Hope it helps! Yesterday 's action,Striper is 25" caught on 11' Crappie pole ten lb. test 1/16 oz. crappie jig

Just replaced two Continental that lasted 6 years. Decided Walmart 27's were best option value based on TFFvthread reviews.

My boat is close to four years old and I currently have Interstate Batteries that came with the boat when I bought the boat. Thank you all for the great information!
