I have 3 Curado 200 e7 reels that are getting old and wore out. Started making noise and aren't as smooth as they used to be. Ive took completely apart, cleaned oiled, they even have ceramic hybrid bearings in them. Thinking about getting a new reel, just want to hear yalls input on the new Curado 70 reels? How are they compared to the 200 e7? Are they built good and smooth?

They're bada$$ reels. I use mine for all sorts of techniques. They're every bit as good as the e7 series Curado's.

I read a lot of reviews on the cuardo 200i, a lot of people like them but some of the reviews with people complaining that it makes a bunch of noise. If I'm spending good money I don't want a clunker. Also couldn't find what the max drag is. I have about 10 shimano reels all citicas and curados. mostly g7 and 200 e

The people complaining about the noise probably aren't keeping their reels maintenenced. Which they do require. The brass drum needs to be cleaned and lightly oiled every so often.

Just oil the braking raceway in the side plate each time you respool and it won't make much noise. The "noise" people complain about is just the braking system.

Is that on the 70 or the 200 or both?
