What is the verdict on academy rain gear? The blue ones.

Had mine about 5 years now, love them, put some scotch guard on last year just to be safe, have never gotten wet in them. I wear them all the time during the winter. They block the wind great also. Not much insulation but I just layer up underneath depending on temp.

Mine keep going, I have replaced buckles, patched a hole or 2, I scotch guard at beginning of each year. I'm at year 7 or so. For the price I doubt you get better. I reject the idea of spending 500-1000 on a rain suit.

I looked at more expensive ones but couldn't see it.

Love mine, Scotchguard at first of year and good to go. Works great. Layer underneath, never cold.
