I understand how to record a sonar logging on a SD card but once you have recorded how do you view what you have recorded? DO you view it on a computer is so do I need certain software to view it or can I view it on my depth finder?

I haven't done any lately but I used to download a program from Lowrance and viewed my logs on my computer.

When I scan a bank I record 4 screens (chart, 2d, down and side) then I pull off the bank and run the log through the simulator so I can watch it and mark wpts.

The program was on the Lowrance site and called sonar viewer. The simulator is the one in your unit. You can play back any recordings with your unit.

Not the Lowrance software mentioned above, but same name Sonar Viewer is the one from Reefmaster:
http://reefmaster.com.au/index.php/products/sonar-viewer

And if you wish to develop maps and view sonar logs, the main Reefmaster program will do both:
http://reefmaster.com.au/index.php/products/reefmaster

I use Reefmaster Lite.

But note. Most Lowrance sonar logs must be recorded in SL2 format as the new SL3 format is unsupported.

And sonar logs can be re-viewed on the unit itself.
