Hi Guys,
Wondering if anyone has tried this already. I've been using this set up for literally any bass fishing technique without any problem. You can fish super long leaders as you can wind this connection through your guides. It's not a cure but I would definitely recommend it if you haven't tried it yet.

Yeah that's right, it's called an FG Knot. I've barely seen anyone use it for Bass Fishing applications but it's very useful!

Once you get it down, it will take between 1-2minutes, it is a bit tricky to learn though...

Anytime! Let me know how it goes! I'm working on a close-up video of the knot just in case people can't see it properly...

Tying that knot is like doing the "Hokey Pokey". Put your right foot in, put your right foot out, and shake it all about, do the hokey pokey and do it all again and again the other direction and back again, then repeat 3 more times. roflmao

I still do not understand tying a "weaker" leader line to a stronger main line.
the weakest point in the line will still be either the lighter line or the knot.
if a fish is going to break 15# line it will break the 15# line whether it is just in the leader or if it is rolled on the entire spool.
what does 15# fluorocarbon tied to 65# braid accomplish ?

AND oh by the way ---- I am really willing to listen to reasonable explanations.
I do want to know if I am really missing something here.

Sometimes the fish will "shy" away from straight braid. (Have had it happen many many times.) Some people still want the benefits of the Braid (No stretch, more sensitive) so they also use a leader that won't spook the fish. BUT as you realized there is still a weak point in the line. AND since braid won't stretch you will tend to break your leader more often if you don't loosen your drag and/or realize to slow and stop early on the hookset. I have seen more line breakage THAN a properly tied Knot. (Albright is a quick and easy one.)Personally I don't use leaders. I will go either straight braid or Fluoro Carbon line. And depending on the leader length (as was mentioned earlier in this post), there is the problem with a long leader and the knot catching on the eyes during the cast.
BUT, it's like all TOOLS there can be applications where people want to utilize both.

Good explanation,,,
But not good enough that I would risk the breakage vs spooked fish.
If 20# flourocarbon will catch fish then 50# braid the diameter of 12# should not spook a fish.
And it certainly does not affect moving / swim bait bites.
I think I will still forgo using leaders.
