Cat fishing has been excellent on Lake Livingston lately.
The water temp was 57.5 today and the bite was slower than yesterday, as today there was little wind, but still pretty good cat fishing.
Bigfost and I drifted cut drum in 30' FOW and caught nine good blue cats trolling with the i pilot.
Jim caught the big fish of the day, an over thirty pound blue, and I caught a 21 pound blue.
The other fish were between 12 and 15 pounds.
All were released.
Yesterday I took out a party in a tough North wind that made working our way across the lake pretty rough.
When we started drifting it was on and I only had two rods out before one was slammed.
The action was fast and hard and it's a good thing as one of the party got sea sick and we had to call it after an hour and a half of fishing.
They boated 10 fine box fish 15 to 8 pounds and released a twenty two pound blue in that short window.
