I had Darien and his son Cooper out today for some very chilly crappie fishing. The little fish bit like crazy early and we finally found some better fish toward midday. Probably boated over a hundred fish but only 15 keepers. Cooper did catch doubles twice early this morning which was aggressive for those little crappie. They had a good time and I hope they thawed out.

I may be contacting you soon for a guided trip. Checked out your website and though I've been fishing LL since the early 90's myself, I sold my bass boat a few years ago. Just started fishing out of a kayak this fall. Have primarily targeted sandies for table fare since I gave up on tournament fishing and would like to get more experience with cats and crappie.

Just let me know Captian. I'm chasing big blue cats the next few days and then back to crappie. I have some openings over the next few weeks and the weather looks pretty good.

+1 on Jacky. Finds you fish, will teach you as much as you care to learn and a pleasure to hang out with. Looking forward to my next outing with him.

Are they up in the creeks or deep in the main lake this time of year?

You can find crappie in both areas right now. Experts say that only 25% of the crappie go in the creeks in the winter. The other 75% stay on the main lake and they can be found deep on ledges feeding on shad, on rocks right on the bottom, brush piles close to deep water and around bridge pilings suspended. We are catching them in different areas and methods. Just slow down your presentation in the colder weather.
