Yep - planer boards for trolling when there's no wind to drift and a transducer mounting board so I can try to get my side imaging dialed in

I'd like some feedback on those, been thinking of trying them out myself on calm days using the trolling motor to keep baits moving

I have been using water buggz and Zakks big cat planer boards...zakks are high dollar but they get your bait out the farthest and can handle heavy sinkers and big bait..I order them off bottom dwellers...as far as feedback, they flat out put more fish in the boat! They take a little getting used to but I run them almost every trip even when dragging bait out the side. Gets the bait out 75yrds on each side of boat allowing you to cover a ton of water. I can drag a channel while also dragging a flat..I can drift a hump and have baits dragging over the top as well as along the contour...I have days that I catch every single fish on planers so they are worth every penny to me! I have only scratched the surface for what they are truly capable of.

Can someone please explain where to put a planer board on the line? Obviously you want to be dragging the bottom, so do you cast out and once you are on the bottom then you put the planer on the line?

Depends on how deep you are running or if you want them suspended. If im running 30 ft deep and fishing the bottom I cast out about 40ft or so to the side then clip op the planer and feed out line until I like where they are riding. The more line you let out the wider your spread. If you want to fish them suspended (let's say suspended 35 ft in 45 ft of water) you count out 38 ft or so from your bait and clip on your planer.
