Ok thought my transducer was messed up. I ended up buying a new one and guy who installed said it was my settings that was wrong. I launched and the 2d and di worked. My side image wasn't so I messed with my settings and it worked but image was bad so I made adjustments and not its jacked. The side image will try and work but it's poor. I have a Lowrance 7ti on my kayak and never had trouble adjusting stuff. I was wondering if any experts would mind telling me how they have there's setup or even better if I can call you next time I am on the water. I don't know anyone local to me. Long shot but if anyone fishes Falcon lake maybe you can make a trip with me and school me. I would if you taught me a lot. Thank you http://i215.photobucket.com/albums/cc290...zps3tb8k1p1.jpg

Try some youtube videos on setting up the humminbird. There are some good ones out there that will go through all the basic settings, tell you what they do and give you an idea of where to start. You can always start by switching back to default settings and that'll get you in the ball park. Where do you live?

Also wouldn't hurt to see if there's a software update for your unit also while you are messing with it

I had the same problem. Worked great Friday and Saturday, then went Sunday and no good. Looked like it was getting interference. Went out Monday, same thing then I hooked it up to the front. No problems. So the only logical conclusion is that the ducer went bad. Never hit anything at all, its a transom mount. I know they go bad sometimes. It has has happened before. New one has been ordered. Its a bummer thought because they are @ $250 a pop.

Don. It was a brand new ducer. It was doing the same thing when I ordered my other. That's why I got a new one. It worked ok till I messed with the screen. I will take pics next week when I go out again. I appreciate any help. I gotta look at YouTube and call humminbird. I was hoping maybe because I am new to humminbird it was just me being a jack wagon.

Sorry Wayne meant to address you. It has the current update. Again it worked fine before I got it, then friend messed with it it got jacked. Ordered a new transducer and shield saver. 2d and down image worked except si. Tried to fix it and now nothing works. When I set default I was fishing the Mexico side of Falcon- does that effect anything? Seems like a dumb question but it would have been my luck.

Unless you got a Mexican cartel AK-47 bullet in the unit, no. One more thing, is the unit power cord NOT connected to any boat wiring harness circuits and only connected directly to the battery or a dedicated electronics fuse panel with the proper size fuse and larger conductors if the cord is too short?

Wayne, Do you happen to have a start-up setting chart like the one above for the Helix 12 Chirp SI(not Mega) and the 1199?

For one thing, it looks like you have you SI running out to 160, Lower that down to around 100, even 80 for now while testing. You'll get a better picture. I have a 12" screen and usually run it around 90. 160 will be stretching everything out and you won't get the details.
It's hard to tell from the photo without seeing more of the boat in the picture but it seems like it is tilted up in the back. What about your installer? Have you gone back to him and see if he would help?
