Even with as warm as it has been you wont see any on main lakes right now. This next 3-4 day cold spell will drop the water quite a bit. I have seen them on all the powerplant lakes I have been to however and those have been fun!

Interesting question. I fished Lake Raven in Huntsville extensively last week and all the fish 4 lbs and up that I caught had already spawned and clouds of bass fry were visible in the shallows. Water was too murky to identify beds, however I did spook fish in the shallows in their traditional spawning areas on that lake. Water temps in the mid 60s.

Fish spawn way before people realize it. Rayburn was 63 yesterday and looks to be that warm all next week.

I worked at Martin Lake Power Plant for 33 years. Fished it a lot. It's not unusual for fish to move up to spawn in January. All size bass.
