Hooking a fish is like playing string with a cat. The exact size, shape, color of string matters less than how you wiggle it- and little cats are easier to fool than big ones. John Gierach

Wanted to say thanks for the views and comments; theyre always appreciated. Some of you know I shoot a lot of waterfowl flight shots, even more since my lab Jessie crossed the rainbow. While all flight shots are challenging, few ducks are as difficult to capture in flight as buffleheads. Its one thing to drop a bufflehead with your favorite duck gun but magnitudes more challenging to capture a quality flight shot, especially if they rarely fly into your spread.

For those not familiar, buffleheads are tiny speedballs that fly right on the deck. I always tell my friends trying to get a shot, if youre looking above the horizon, youll never see them as they fly so low and fast.

Always chasing a better shot hones the skill and fuels the passion. In this case Im hopeful Ill get a chance in better light.
