Confidence is what's important most the time I'll tie several different ones on everybody's lines and we're all catching :-)

I normally use reaxtionlures ghost minnows and prune pickers chartreuse and white or a combination of both with a flea fly above it.

I have 3, 2 of which you can't even get anymore so the only one available is at Academy - Wahoo Jig'N Minnow.

The "Kansas Slab" that a great friend at Texoma gave me 6-7 years ago in purple/silver/white, then showed me how to use it.
Other than that the pot belly shad from MT Pockets Tackle in white or chartreuse.

I prefer RSR's that are gold on one side and silver on the other.

Old Ugly Slabs have loaded my boat many many times. This week my kid was using a wiggle shad and I was using an Ole Ugly. He out fished me 3-1 it seemed. I don't really have a single favorite besides the one producing at the time. A Cotton Cordell Silver Slab has probably been the one I have caught the most fish on over the years.

Confidence is what's important most the time I'll tie several different ones on everybody's lines and we're all catching :-) I do the same for guests on my boat and saw the same once we are on fish. But do prefer the skinnier ones for winter and flutter slabs for warm water. There are some very good slab makers on TFF for sure.

I start every fishing trip with all the confidence in the world...
My only gripe about the wahoos probably has more to do with Academy. I generally like the heavier slabs, and they never seem to stock anything but small sizes, at least at my academy. Still better than Gander. Couldn't find a single slab at Gander Mountain. Asked an employee and he told me they did not stock any. Huh...
I generally buy at smaller tackle shops, but I thought I might place some orders at a few different places this time, just for fun.
Gotta ask, what's a Kansas slab?

Here's a link to a picture of one. https://s3.amazonaws.com/files.websitetoolbox.com/171958/2438029Olsens tackle in lake worth/ sansom park has a better variety of slabs than academy. I prefer the ones made by tff members myself. Might cost more but better quality and options.

Yeah, Olsens is actually one of the places I've been buying slabs. I generally buy a few of the humdinger slabs every time Im on that side of FW, not all that often. I like the humdingers, but they still didn't have 2oz last time I was in.
Will be trying some of those mentioned. Might even have to try one of these Kansas slabs...

I really don't post a lot, but I felt a little inspired this morning! Post your pics of your favorite jigs so we can see what they look like! So here are some pics for you! Some of my favorite jigs from a Kansas lure maker! RND Trophy Tackle!!! He is the only place I could find these jigs when I started Striper fishing! He has two sizes of the long jigs I love so much! PM me if you want a contact number or email addy. A few homemade goodies compliments of Oneida! LOL!!! I have some long flat ones I busted a 15 pounder out of Whitney with too. Proof that they work! And last but not least a picture of my fishing buddy that went to be with the lord December 1st, 2015! 6 months before he left he caught this 14 pound Hybrid at Lake Bridgeport. Could have been the record, but we didn't go weigh it in. Good one non the less! Miss you Big Brother!

That's a huge hybrid for Bp! A shame you didn't get it certified. Now I know what lures I don't have that I need to get. Thanks! Lol. That will make 6 boxes of slabs after I get those.

Hard to name a favorite really... Been fishing Hubbard a long time. Old saying is you can use any color slab you want on Hubbard- as long as it's chartreuse! That's always been my go to color/lure. Have used pretty much everyone's slabs. Haven't met a bad one yet. I live above Harbor Bay on Hubbard. My next door neighbor Mark Bovee is into making slabs as a hobby. He has a slab a buddy named the "Bovenator" That dog can hunt. Just thought of something. I posted last summer the "key" to catching sand bass. As a joke I told a house key and drilled two holes in it and put a treble hook on it. Neighbor Mark dipped it into some chartreuse paint. Thing caught fish! Guess it unlocked some secrets to catching sand bass!

Slabs should match the hatch. Size depends on the time of year. Chartreuse or white are favorite colors. Tight lines to all.
