There a a few LARGE lots of fishing gear for sale on Houston Craigslist.

Not saying these guys stole it but they might have "accidentally" picked something up recently.

Worth checking it out if you are missing gear.

Could be totally legit but there are a ton of listings in West Houston

I found a guy on Ebay years ago, he had at least a hundred rod and reel combos lined up in front of his house in Vidor Tx! I asked if it would be safe to use them at Toledo or rayburn?? He deleted his ebay acct 2 hrs later!

Yeah looking at what he has to offer besides the 1 or 2 saltwater set-ups those reels could be pulled from almost any anglers boat. And that 2nd link geez those just look like they were fished and then stolen(ahem acquired)... Could be clean but like the above guy said "my gut says otherwise"

I like the statement "I get more new and used weekly." lol I guess that takes away the chance that they are just a lifetime accumulation of rods/reels

That 'ol boy has some huge huevos posting that if they're stolen, an me thinks they probably are. Some bass anglers can get pretty obnoxious when somebody steals their $500 rod and reels. Might even take things into their own hands if you get my drift.

My next project is to put some ID markings on my reels.....under the reel seat.

What can I do on the rods?

Same thing where the reel attaches to the rod. I keep my boat and tackle in the garage and never leave it when I'm fishing. Guys that fish a lot of tournaments are more at risk because their boats, tackle and electronics are left unattended a lot. If I caught someone stealing a man's sporting goods I might not shoot him but I would shoot at him. Hate thieves of any kind.

I was trying to ask questions in order not to give myself away by snooping.

Sounds like he may have "salesmen" out looking for more "supplies".
